Anesthesiology/Pain Management

The Anesthesiologist renders the patient unconscious and/or insensitive to pain and stress during surgical, obstetrical and other procedures and at the same time is responsible for protecting life functions and providing medical care. The Anesthesiologist is also capable of handling patients requiring intensive care and patients with respiratory and pain problems.

Pain Management: A physician who provides a high level of care, either as primary physician or consultant, for patients experiencing problems with acute, chronic or cancer pain in both hospital and ambulatory settings. Patient care needs may also be coordinated with other specialists.
